Wilbur papers include collection of Brigadier General Wilbur's personal papers somewhat reflective of his career between West Point graduation in 1912, and his retirement in 1947. The collection is heavy on strategic studies of various countries for various time periods, not relative to his assignments, otherwise. Some of these relate to: Iran, 1952-1953; Russia, 1935, 1955 and 1961; Pearl Harbor post mortem report, etc.

William Hale Wilbur was born September 24, 1888, in Palmer, Massachusetts. After high school he briefly attended Haverford College and eventually entered West Point. Upon graduation he held different posts, including Panama, before becoming an instructor at West Point. After three years at West Point he taught and studied at various military schools, including the prestigious Army War College. In 1923 he married Laura G. Schiefflen.
